Adaptiva teams with Windows Management Experts to offer SCCM auditing services

Although Microsoft’s Systems Center Configuration Manager, or SCCM, is supposed to help IT with software patches and configurations for devices, many IT pros have security concerns about SCCM, a recent survey found.

SCCM provides IT departments with remote control, patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, network access protection and hardware and software inventory.

But more than two-thirds of 150 IT pros surveyed by security firm Adaptiva said they were concerned that a compromise of SCCM could give attackers control of their endpoints. SCCM is particularly at risk of attack when security configurations are not properly set and updated, explained Jim Sounders, chief operating officer at Adaptiva.
