When I first walked into the Adaptiva offices back in December I was struck by the number of awards for technical excellence that greeted me at the door. Today, I am pleased to announce that our company was recognized as a finalist for another award: the 2016 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group. This honor recognizes those organizations and people who bring new ideas to life and was judged by a panel of industry leaders. Adaptiva was honored for innovation in simplifying and accelerating operating system deployments and upgrades for enterprise IT professionals.
Too often people assume that systems management and content distribution are merely “practical necessities” and that little innovation is happening in the space. As this recent award recognition symbolizes, the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
In a past life, I spent countless hours extolling the virtues of what many consider to be “exciting” topics like transformative ideas around big data, apps, and security. I’ve recently come to respect just how critical systems managers are to making those visions a reality across enterprises around the world. When it comes to doing everything from deploying the new Windows 10 operating system to ensuring security compliance across every PC in a company, systems managers are the glue that is holding our companies together. They are the ones who are creating innovative approaches to quickly get critical software and services to the people that need them most.
One of the reasons I joined Adaptiva is that I believe that 2016 will be the year that the industry shifts from focusing on cool technologies to useful ones, rewarding companies that deliver practical ways to accelerate and eliminate the seemingly insurmountable number of tasks that IT professionals now have to face every day. With endpoint security provider, Tanium, suddenly scoring one of the largest investment rounds in recent memory it seems like companies that are delivering a smarter approach to systems management might now be getting the value and attention they deserve. And if our friends at Barclays are right in their prediction that “enterprises are estimated to increase their technology spending to $2.1 trillion by 2017” there is little doubt that the necessity for a faster and more intelligent way to scale IT initiatives is only going to increase in urgency.
At Adaptiva we recognize that discovering new ways to lighten the load on systems managers who are struggling to keep up with the pace of enterprise software deployments is more pressing than ever. This is why we remain committed to innovation, particularly around providing new ways for IT professionals to find smarter ways to scale their content distribution initiatives and reduce the total cost of ownership when using Microsoft System Center for their client management needs.
Upon selecting Adaptiva as a Big Innovation finalist, Russ Fordyce, managing director of the Business Intelligence Group, said: “Congratulations to the entire team. This is well-deserved recognition of your pursuit of excellence and creativity in solving problems.” In turn, we would also like to tip our hats to the thousands of system managers and IT professionals who use our Adaptiva products to creatively solve their business’s content distribution challenges every day. We remain committed to serving you with integrity and a passion for using innovation to make your jobs easier.
